a] Preliminary programme
The preliminary programme (draft) for Medinfo2010 is now available on the website. You can follow all the latest news updates on the Medinfo2010 website, and on Twitter ? @medinfo2010
d] Raising funds to support students
The CHIRAD Foundation is supporting Medinfo 2010 by raising funds for SAHIA (South African Health Informatics Association) to help students who would otherwise be unable to attend the congress. The aim of the effort to raise US$100 as a once-off personal contribution is to allow individuals, committed to the continued upliftment of health/medical informatics, to contribute a token amount to a fund specially created to sponsor students in our field. Many $100 will enable these gifted people the chance to attend Medinfo2010 and learn from the world leaders. These students will be selected on merit by the LOC with input from the SPC and will typically come from disadvantaged countries where funding for prestigious events like Medinfo is non existent. Should you not be attending the congress you can also contribute. See the Medinfo2010 website for more information.
e] Senior Officers Club activity
The IMIA Senior Officers Club will be holding an invitation-only meeting/activity at Medinfo2010. Further information and invitations will be sent to individuals soon. Thanks to Marion Ball, Hans Peterson and Jan van Bemmel for work on planning this.
It is expected that many other groups will additionally be planning meetings at Medinfo2010. Please feel free to contact imia@imia-services.org to help in publicising these activities (note: some may be by invitation only).

7. Acknowledgments and thanks
IMIA relies heavily on the volunteer efforts of many people in our member societies, WG/SIG and other members, and in particular the many hours of work that the Board members provide. However, we also rely on the work of a small number of people who are paid part-time and put in far more work than they are ever paid for. I hope you will join me in thanking Martina Hutter (IMIA Yearbook), Elaine Huesing (Financial Administration) and Jeff Keller (Website Administration) for all their hard work.
